LIGHT A CANDLE IN OUR CHURCH

"...again Jesus spoke to them, saying, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'"- John 8:12

Candles are often lit for remembrance, hope, prayerfulness, or gratitude. Whatever the intention, the flame that burns is a symbol of Christ's love - a love that has no limit and acts as a beacon throughout the journey of life. We are happy to light a candle in the blessed space of His home to honor and commemorate any intention you may have.

A Prayer to Isaac Hecker, CSP

Heavenly Father, you called Isaac Hecker to preach the Gospel to the people of North America and to know the peace and the power of your indwelling Spirit. Like St. Paul the Apostle, he spoke your Word with a zeal for souls and a burning love for all who came to him in need.

Hear our prayer and through the intercession of Father Hecker, grant our intentions.

We ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, Our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit. One God, forever and ever. Amen.

A Prayer In Memory of the Deceased

In your hands, O Lord, we humbly entrust our brothers and sisters. In this life you embraced them with your tender love; deliver them now from every evil and bid them eternal rest.

The old order has passed away: welcome them into paradise, where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain, but fullness of peace and joy with your Son and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.

We ask this thought Christ, our Lord. Amen.

A Prayer in Times of Financial Hardship

Gracious God,

We know that your love is infinite and that you care about all areas of our life. In this time of economic insecurity, help us to trust that all of our security is in you. Keep us mindful that you always have and always will provide for our needs.  Apart from you we can do nothing.

Help us to protect the poor and all those who are struggling during this difficult time. Provide for their needs and give them hope. Open new opportunities for them and furnish the resources they need to live with dignity.  Encourage those who have enough to share essential resources with those who lack the necessities of life, and to do so with humble, grateful and loving hearts.

We ask this through Christ, Our Lord.  Amen.

A Prayer for Peace

Almighty and Eternal Father, God of wisdom and mercy,

Whose power exceeds all force of arms and Whose protection is the strong defense of all who trust in Thee,

Enlighten and direct, we beseech Thee, those who bear the heavy responsibility of government throughout the world in these days of stress and trial. Grant them the strength to stand firm for what is right and the skill to dispel the fears that foment discord; inspire them to be mindful of the horrors of conflict for the victors and vanquished alike, to Beck conciliation in truth and patience, to see in every man a brother, that the people of all nations may, in our day, enjoy the blessings of a just and lasting peace.

Conscious of our own unworthiness, we implore Thy mercy on a sinful world in the Name of Thy Divine Son, the Prince of Peace, and through the intercession of His Blessed Mother and all the saints. Queen of All Saints, pray for us. Queen of the Holy Rosary, pray for us. Queen of Peace, pray for us.

We ask this thought Christ, our Lord. Amen.

A Prayer for Family

We bless your name, O Lord, for sending your own incarnate Son, to become part of a family, so that, as he lived its life, he would experience its worries and its joys.

We ask  you, Lord, to protect and watch over this family, so that in the strength of your grace its members may enjoy prosperity, possess the priceless gift of your peace, and, as the Church alive in the home, bear witness in this world to your glory.

We ask this thought Christ, our Lord. Amen.

A Prayer to St. Jude

Most Holy Apostle St. Jude Thaddeus, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the the hands of his enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors you, and I invoke you as a special advocate of those who are in trouble and almost without hope. Help me to realize that through our faith we triumph over life's difficulties by the power of Jesus who loved us and gave His life for us. Come to my assistance that I may receive the consolation and succor of heaven in all my needs, trials and sufferings, particularly those I am working through now, and that I may praise God with you and all of the saints forever.

St. Jude, apostle of the Word of God, pray for us. St. Jude, follower of the Son of God, pray for us. St. Jude, preacher of the love of God, pray for us. St. Jude, intercessor before God, pray for us. St. Jude, friend of all in need, pray for us. St. Jude, pray for us, and for all who invoke your aid.

We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

A Prayer to St. Paul

Glorious Saint Paul, from being a persecutor of the Christian name, you became its most zealous apostle. To make Jesus, our Divine Savior, known to the uttermost parts of the earth, you suffered prison, scourgings, stonings, shipwreck, and all manner of persecution, and shed the last drop of your blood.

Obtain for us the grace to accept the infirmities, sufferings and misfortunes of this life as favors of the divine mercy. So may we never grow weary of the trials of our exile, but rather show ourselves even more faithful and fervent.

We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
